Change of Seasons

Fall is here! I biked to the radio station today and was almost overwhelmed by how beautiful and comforting Colorado feels right now. I've heard people say that they miss the fall from wherever they grew up. I see how that could easily happen, coming from a place as beautiful as this.

I've been very delinquent in my posting for the past several months. A lot has changed. I have a new job as a baker which means my mornings are earlier than they have ever been, and my nights are shorter. Vee device's CD is out and garnering critical acclaim (and possibly a Grammy nomination!) I've moved to a new house with an old friend and am starting to feel at peace in new surroundings. Love has left my life, but I have hope that it will return soon...

My weekend is now Monday and Tuesday, and today is the first day I've really had to sit back and truly relax. I think I've got some long overdue time in the hammock to get to, but I needed to make this post to let the world know that I am still alive and doing as well as I can.

The future is now a great unknown to me, and while I find little comfort in that, the weather seems to be washing away whatever melancholy I have been feeling. Life has a funny way of balancing things out.

What does it mean to Love?

“What does it mean to love?” asked The Little Prince.

“It is an act too often neglected,” said The Fox.
“It means to establish ties.
To me you are still nothing more than a little boy
Like a hundred-thousand little boys
And I have no need of you.

And you on your part have no need of me.
To you I am nothing more than a fox
Like a hundred-thousand other foxes.

But if you love me,
Then we shall need each other.
To me you shall be unique in all the world.

Now, here is my secret.
A very simple secret:
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly.
What is essential is invisible to the eye.
It is the time you have wasted for your rose
That makes your rose so important.

You become responsible for what you have loved.”’
