Christmas Wrapup
Well Christmas is finally over! I worked over 110 hours in the past two weeks and have been enjoying a few wonderful, and, dare I say, well deserved, days off.
Christmas was kind to me. The biggest gift of the year was a new guitar! Hurray! Now I don’t have to go on tour with a family heirloom! I also got some new dishes, lots of treats and money.
The strangest gift I got by far was from Sam and Madalene. They sent me lots of tasty Asian goodies which no doubt came from Seafood City in Saint Louis. The Mr. Brown Blue Mountain Style Iced Coffee drink and The Wahaha Baby drink are both quite creepy, but the creepiest treat is probably the Triko Assorted Fruit Jelly. The assortment consists of 4 flavors: Grape, Apple, Orange and… Aloe Vera!
All of the fruit jellies also contain real fruit, except the aloe vera, (thank goodness!) and they are also vegetarian, as they contain seaweed extract instead of gelatin. (it’s made from hooves you know!)
I’ve only tried the grape so far. Its hideousness is beyond description.

Update!! The aloe vera flavor does in fact contain some sort of fruit... eeeeew!
Aloe vera jelly! Finally, an alternative to spreading my St. Ives Aloe Vera Advanced Therapy Lotion across toast. Still, I have to say, the Swiss botanicals have a lovely bouquet and keep my tongue nice and moisturized.
i didnt know they were sending you that kind of stuff. you know you love it though! glad im not there...no kisses for you aloe mouth!!! yuck.
Merry Christmas, Dennis! The mysterious items were not actually from Seafood City, but a neighbor to it. You haven't mentioned what either of the drinks taste like. We want to know - and I'm glad you tried the aloe. I can see a grinning Vee standing on your doorstep, mouth smeared with lotion and toast crumbs saying, "Hey, I'm out of st. ives!" ;-) I'm so glad you'll be there for him - and his moisturized tongue. Happy New Year!!
